中国大陸では、有名な秦の始皇帝の焚書事件（紀元前212年、約二千二十年前）があり、多数の歴史書が焼き
捨てられて，多数の学者や占い者が生き埋めにされて殺されました。彼は過去の歴史を消し去って、彼が
歴史最古の皇帝になろうとして、始皇帝（しこうてい）と名乗ったのです。紙の発明が早かった中国大陸でも紙が普及するまで、竹に記載した書物が多かったので、歴史書を焼き捨てたのですが、古い記録には動物の骨に刻まれた
甲骨文字（こうこつ・もじ）が残っていました。骨に刻まれた殷の時代（紀元前1400年頃、約三千五百年前）の甲骨文字の記録によれば、
従来の学説に反して、古代の中国大陸には太陰暦しか存在していなかったといいます。右の図は「殷墟ト辞の研究」・
島邦男著・弘前大学・中国学研究会発行に掲載された、殷の暦の一部です。これによると、殷時代の前半は月の満ち
欠けによる太陰暦を使用していたので、二十か月ごとに閏月が存在していますが、計算が粗雑なために、一年に47日
もの差が生じました。殷の王様が自殺して殷が滅亡する紀元前1027年（約三千年前）時代の直前になって、殷の暦に
始めて、近代的な太陰太陽暦が現れました。なお、エジプトの太陰太陽暦の創始は紀元前2781年（約五千年前）
といいます。
In China main land, in the year of 212 BC, Emperor SHIH HUANG-TI has thrown many books into the fire and
has buried many scholars alive that he tried to erase out ancient history and made new history that should
be inaugurated from his regime.
As the invention of paper was developed in China earlier than any other countries of the word, the attempt of
the Emperor to burn out books written on either papers or bamboo pieces was successfully performed in a certain extent expected; however,
there was another form of description to write articles on the bones left in the ancient China.
According to the report of A STUDY OF ORACLE LETTERS Rescued from the Ruins of Yin’s Capital by
Kunio Shima of Hirosaki University in Japan, there was only a simple calendar made on the observation of the
Moon in the years around 1400 BC or thirty five hundred years ago approximately in China found. The above
right illustration is a partial view of the ancient calendar engraved on the bone excavated. As they were using
old style simple Moon calendars, there was almost forty seven days lag per year regardless their erroneous efforts
to set a correction in each twenty months elapsed. In the several years ahead of the termination of Yin’s regime
that had come on the suicide of the last king in 1027 BC or three thousand years ago approximately, the modern
style of solar calendar was introduced in China. For your information, the solar calendar was established in
Egypt in the year 2781 BC or five thousand years ago approximately reported.
現在の社会でも、専門技術を伝承する職人が後輩のために技術の文章を残す例は少ないのです。なにかの書物を
残すとしても、技術の一部を忘れないための覚書の程度の簡単なメモになる例が多いのです。古代の人々も書物
を書きませんでした。残っているものは、覚書のメモばかりです。そのメモを編集して系統的な書物にする学者が
出現したのは、ギリシャでは紀元前500年頃であり、インドでは紀元前477年の第１次仏典結集です。しかし、
占星学のような特殊の分野の書物は断片的なものを除いて、系統的な教科書としては、西暦100年頃の作という
トレミー（プトレマイオス）のテトラビブロスが最初のものです。 一部の研究者はテトラビブロスのギリシャ語の記述が首尾一貫
しないのは幼稚な学生がトレミーの講義を筆記したものであり、トレミー自身が記載したものではないと批判した
説を発表しています。西暦100年頃のテトラビブロスがトレミーの講義を筆記した未熟な学生のメモで
あるという説は納得できます。たとえば、インドの釈尊が紀元前500年頃に仏教を説いてから数百年も経過
して後に仏典が編集されたのですし、またキリストの死後数百年後の四世紀になり聖書が記載されたのです。
当時の人々が文字に記載するのは備忘録としてのメモであり、文章として書籍に記述するのは弟子たちの
仕事でした。
Even in our modern life, we seldom see a book of expert knowledge that was described by the leading
expert of a specialized technology explored. We may see a partial memorandum on the specific art to
keep a memory for the momentary use. In those days in the ancient, most people did not write a book
except for the memo for a momentary pocket book kept. As the years went on, we saw a specialized
researcher who was interested in to compile a specific topic for publish a book style released. It was
found in the age of 500 BC in Greek for philosophical notes and also in 477 BC in India for the first
edition of Buddhism Text published. For the specialized field of astrology, however, we saw only the
partial memos for the ancient ages described. The first book of systematic description on astrology was
the TETROBIBLOS of PTOLEMY or Claudius Ptolemaios written in 100 AD released.
Some of researchers have criticized the description of Ptolemy released.
According to them, one of the reasons on the inconsistent description found in the TETRABIBLOS was
the young student’s manuscript that had kept as the memorandum of the lecture given by Ptolemy at his
lecture of class token. Therefore, Ptolemy did not write the TETROBIBLOS by himself. We can accept
the opinion of a researcher that TETRABIBLOS was a memorandum note made by a young student
of Ptolemy lectured. For instance, the Buddhist bible was written in the era of several hundred years
after the death of Gautama Buddha that was believed to live 563 – 483 BC in India. And also in
Christianity, the Bible has been edited in the fourth century that was several hundred after the death
of Jesus Christ lectured. In those days, people had taken memorandums if necessary and the edition
of book was the task of pupil studied.
