十九世紀の末に英国の探検隊がメソポタミアの古代バビロンの遺跡を発掘して発見した粘土板に記載された
楔形（くさびがた）文字を解読したところ，バビロン王朝の第十代・カンビサス王の第7年秋の10月後半に
金星、火星、木星、土星の四星が暁の東天に集合したのを見たという記録がありました。そこで、コンピュータ
でこの時代の天体の運行を計算したところ、紀元前523年10月23日、現地時間の午前5時に乙女座で四星が
集合することが確認できました。図は斉藤国治著・古天文学の道・原書房発行の247ページに記載の図の写しです。
The illustration in the right indicates the brief copy taken from the description of KOKUJI SAITOU in the
book of KO-TENMONGAKU-NO-MITCHI in page 247 published by HARASHOBOU in 1990 released.
This indicates the position of four planets or Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn that has joined in the east sky
of BABYLONIA recorded. The original information was given in the cuneiform script excavated by the British
Exploration Party in the end of nineteenth century reported. As the description was translated that has suggested
the observation of four planets met in the east sky in the seventh year of tenth CAM-BY-SES king of Babylonia,
the study made by the modern computer system has revealed the event should be observed at 5am on October
23rd 523 BC in local time calculated.
