エバーティンが晩年発表した45度法のハーフサムを石川源晃は1978年から八分円法(45度ダイアル）と称し米国で発表しました。
この45度法は、アディーが開発した第８調波
に相当する技法ですから、人物の周囲の環境が熟成しているか? 否か？ を検討する場合に役にたつものです。
その後、筆者は分割調波の開発
に没頭したため、実務的には有効な手段であった45度法(八文円法）の研究を忘れていましたが、2004年の米国大統領選挙を機に45度法が有効であることに改めて注目ました。
45度法を計算する時に使用する仮の出生時刻「午前６時」（地方標準時）はゴーカリン (1928-1991)
の研究によるものであり、 従来の「日の出時刻」ではありません。
45度法はハウス方式を使用しませんから、生まれ時刻が判明しなくても、大筋で予測することができます。ゆわゆる「何座の運勢」という「あてもの」に比較すれば数段の精度で論議できる利点がありますから、ハウス方式の予備として、利用する方法もあります。
２個の天体の間の特殊な角度差はアスペクト
ですが、２個の天体の中間点をハーフサム
（または、ミドポイント）
といいます。
計算技術が発達した現在では、天体
位置の計算を詳細にする傾向がありますが、占星学は実用上オーブ
を設定するので、
分秒の桁まで正確に計算することはハウスやサイン境界が存在しない45度法では無意味です。
実用上の科学技術の工学では３桁以上の正確な計算は省略した有効数字
を使用しますから、占星学も実用科学として、数字の内容を再検討し、30分未満は切り捨て、30分以上は1度繰上げます。
無料で使用できるスイスのASTRODIENST（占星学の下僕）の２ページ目で右図のように年号を入力すれば、左図のように月別のページにミドポイントを表示します。使用には、あらかじめ無料配布のAdobe Readerを準備します。生まれ時刻を無視して日付表示のみを選定しますから、UT(GMT)で0hに近い「日付」を使用します。通常の出生図では、ASCやMCを重要視しますが、45度法ハーフサムでは、ASCやMCを除外しても十分に詳細な判断ができます。
なお、ASTRODIENSTを使用すれば、無料で小惑星を含む各種の円形チャートを正確に作製できます。
使用方法は本ページの後半部分に記載します。しかし、ハーフサムは「日付」別の数字のみであり、石川分割調波などの特殊な技法は表示できません。（アディー調波は円形で表示できます。）
一例に、1942年１月８日出生（小泉純一郎）を45度法のハーフサムで説明します。
45度法に引き写すときに、30分未満は切り捨て、30分以上は１度繰り上げます。45度法では度数はＣＦＭに換算してトランジット天体と比較します。45度法のハーフサムでは、必ず２組の接触点を同格で使用します。

例題人物の特徴は活気軸と芸能軸が同じ接触点の5C、20Fを共有して、「サプライズ」を連発できることと、失恋軸 / と飛躍軸
/ が近接し、失意のドン底からの跳ね上がりが早く、病気軸 / と 活気軸 / が数度差で近接し、健康が低下してもすぐ精神活動が活発になります。
この人物は４月下旬にトランジットの火星
が 成功軸に接触し一時「ほっと」しますが、2005年はプログレス太陽

が 失恋軸 / に接触し、さらに2005年の４月下旬から５月上旬に、火星 が海王星・冥王星の宿命軸 / に接触し、６月には冥王星
が 業病軸 / （欲求過剰の不満）に接触するので非常に困難な時期になります。また、９月中旬から１０月上旬にかけて火星が長期間病気軸 / に接触して健康と気力の低下があります。10月15日ころには、この火星は活気軸に接触して、元気を回復します。
小泉氏にとって、幸運であったことは、重要な時期にトランジットの外側天体（変化速度が遅い天体）の妨害が存在しなかったことです。

軸を形成する要素以外の天体との接触を重要視しますが、要素と同じ天体の接触を自家中毒と称して、除外します。トランジット天体は太陽、月、水星、金星のような速度が速い天体は除いて、火星以降の
トランジット天体の接触を検討します。また、プログレス太陽が接触する場合は重要視しますが、
他のプログレス天体の接触は無視します。45度法の例は

Combination of Midpoint or HALF-SUM of Ebertin has been studied on total of 78 sets of axes.
16 sets among them are now selected for the most important axes for the study of 45degree system.
In practice, the contact made by either the transiting Sun, or Moon, or Mercury, or Venus or rapid
planets will be disregarded. The contact made by either the slower planets, or progressed Sun will
be studied. Any contact made by a planet of own family that is the element of axis will be disregarded.

ENGLISH NOTE of Explanation for 45degree System
This author, H.M.’Gen’ Ishikawa has described new system of 45-degree released by
the later age of Reinhold Ebertin (1900-1988) demonstrated. One of the descriptions of
Ishikawa will be found in the AFA Bulletin released in October 1978.
As this system called 45-degree dial will be corresponding to the eighth harmonics system of Addey
, this will
indicate the status of fulfillment in surrounding circumstances for the expected target aimed.
This author was busy in developing brand new system of Ishikawa’s Divisional Harmonics
and therefore the studies on the 45-degree dial have been left aside for years.
In this occasion of the presidential election held in 2004
, I again come to recognize the
effectiveness of the prediction practice in 45-degree system explored.
We select tentative birth time of a person to be six in the morning at the place of birth assumed.
This time is selected after studying the extensive work of Michel Gauquelin (1928-1991)
and certainly not it comes from that is deduced from so-called Sun rise chart.
There is no house system employed in this 45-degree system of astrology that we do not
ask the sensible point referred to the birth moment.
In the conventional astrology two planets will form the aspects. In our forty-five degree system or the selected system in the half-sums or mid-points, we see the contact points between two natal planets.
In nowadays advanced technology, we may calculate the place of planet up to the precision of a second detailed. As we may place the orb for the contact point, the calculation to the precisions will be non-sense except for the house devision and sign boundaries placed.
We may refer to the present art of Electronic Engineering where any figures exceeding three digits will be rounded off.
Thus in the practice of forty-five degree system, where neither house system nor sign boundary
exists, any digits found less than one degree must be rounded off, or we put one degree plus for the figures
exceeding 30 minutes and we cut off all figures found under the value of 30 minutes.
