占星学の歴史は１１ぺージです。
他に、各地方別の特集が多数あります。
西欧の占星学が何時どこで始まったのかという正確な歴史は不明です。しかし、それが
エジプト
や中国大陸ではないことだけは証明できます。
最古の天体観測記録は約三万年
前のフランスであるといいますが、天体観測をしたから占いをしたという記録は
存在しません。
歴史的な記録としては、紀元前2350年（今から約四千五百年前）に中近東メソポタミア
のアッカド市の王様・サルゴン一世
が個人的な運勢を
占星学で判断したのが最初です。
メソポタミアでは、約一万年まえから文化的な生活をしていた
古代シュメール人
が天体観測をして、旅行の安全や商売の利害を占っていた
のですが、個人個人の運勢は占っていませんでした。バビロニアという都市の文明が歴史に
現れたのは、紀元前1830年（今から約三千八百年前）の文明が発達した時期ですから、
占星学の発達はそれよりも、さらに古いことは多くの記録で明瞭です。

ten thousand years ago have been observing sky phenomena and utilizing it for the purpose to
predict either the safety of their travel or their profit of sales business but not for in person desired.
The famous name Babylonia came to the history only in 1830 BC or some thirty eight hundred years ago

本サイトでは、主として西欧の占星学の歴史を説明し後半でインドおよび日本の説明をします。古い時代の占星学の歴史は20世紀の新しい考古学で書き換えられました。
約二千五百年前のギリシャで学問の形態を考えるようになり、哲学や自然科学など多くの学問が始まりました。
ギリシャ時代の後のラテン時代にローマ帝国の弾圧でギリシャ文献が多数失われました。英国・オックスフォード・クラレンドン社刊の
「ギリシャ語英語辞典・レキシコン」の序文によれば1843年の初版刊行以来1996年に改訂版を刊行する
約150年の間に多数のギリシャ時代の文献が発見されましたが、ラテン文献に比べ少なくとも十倍も数が
多いギリシャ文献が今後もさらに多数発見されるといいます。
ギリシャ語文献が多い理由のひとつは、アレキサンダー大王がバビロニア(いまのイラク)を征服し死去した
際に将軍の一人がエジプトを征服したので、その後も数百年にわたりエジプトがギリシャ語の文化圏にな
るのです。西暦百年ころの作で世界始めての占星学教科書として有名なトレミのテトラビブロスもギリシャ
語で書いてあります。

One of the reasons why the Greek notes are found in large number would be long duration of
civilization of Greek influence in several hundred years span after the death of Alexandros
the Great in Babylonia whose leading general of army was crowned in Egypt. The famous
Tetrabiblos or the oldest text book of astrology in the world was written in Greek in about 100
AD by Claudius Ptolemaios or Ptolemy. 人類の文明がどのようにして始まったかという研究は未解決です。西暦紀元前（今から約2000年前）に文化生活を営んでいた世界の各地の人々はそれぞれ独自の歴史を持って
いますが、二つの大きな条件を考えなければ、その人たちの生活が現在の人類の文明の起源になっているとは
断定できません。その条件の第一は考古学的に研究して、最も古い時代になるということと、第二の条件として
その当時の人々の生活の内容が今日の世界共通の文化に影響を与えていることです。たとえば、非常に古い遺跡
が発見されたとしても、その遺跡から出土したものが、東洋なり西洋なりの限られた地域の文明であれば、人類
の文明の起源ということはできません。
中国大陸で約八千年前の遺跡が発見されて、稲作の痕跡が発見されましたが、農業の最古の遺跡ではなくて、
特定の種類の作物の遺跡ですから、現在の世界の文明の起源とは考えられません。また、インドの古い遺跡は
十分に研究されていないので、不明な点が多いのです。エジプトの遺跡は過度なエジプト人のお国自慢の記録が
災いして、冷静な学問的な研究の妨げになっています。これに対し、1940年ころから1980年ころまでの期間に
各国の考古学者が集中的に発掘した数千に及ぶメソポタミアの古代遺跡は数十万枚に及ぶ新発見の粘土板に刻まれた
古代文字とともに、現在も研究中であり、人類文明の起源をさぐる宝庫としての価値のあるものです。
